Friday Night Photo Dump: April & May 2014

Without further ado, the last couple months according to my iPhone...

Channeling her inner Picasso at a friend's birthday party.
Picking up the mattress for Baby Brother's crib. We should have brought the Tahoe for this purchase :).

Our cute little fish during her swimming lessons.

Post-swimming brunch at Ozona's.

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo with the Lockwoods.

The note that you dread getting from daycare.

My TCU girls at Lauren and Jacob's engagement party.

The girl loves her some dress-up.

Ava decided the patio chairs should be painted (chalked) pink.

My nails needed to be painted as well.

Enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

Peek-a-boo!

Popsicles on the patio.

Painting at school.

Brunch with Grampsie.

Snuggling on the couch on Mother's Day.

Memorial Day swimming party at the Hicks' house.

A super easy, cute, and delicious Memorial Day Weekend treat (thanks to Pinterest for the idea).

The kids thoroughly enjoyed them.

 Rainy-day fun.

Maternity Photo Shoot

I didn't take professional maternity pictures when I was pregnant with Ava, but I really wanted some photos of our growing little family this time around. So in early May, our talented friend Jesse Leos (who was accompanied for the afternoon by his lovely assistants Rachel and Ollie) took a plethora of wonderful photos that truly capture this special moment in our lives.

I love all the photos so much, and it was hard to narrow them down. But these are definitely my favorites...

Ava's Weekend in Austin

Ava's school was closed last Thursday and Friday, so she spent a long weekend in Austin with my family. And to say that she had fun (and was completely spoiled) is a huge understatement.

She basically spent her entire weekend playing, eating yummy food, and swimming. Oh, to be a child in summer again.

And with our toddler being cared for, Josh and I were able to cross numerous items off our to-do-before-the-baby-arrives list.

We even had time to join some friends for a fun and delicious dinner at Savor.

Complete with the best mocktail I've ever had. I will definitely be back once I can consume adult beverages again.

Thanks to my parents for watching our sweet Ava for the weekend!

About Me

My name is Catherine, but most of my friends call me Cat. I was born and raised in Austin, went to TCU, and ended up in Dallas for law school (where Josh and I met). I decided that being an attorney was not my cup of tea and pursued a career in legal marketing. I am now a mother of two attempting to balance family with a full-time job, which is always an adventure. I love: my sweet babies, handsome husband, very large family, and fabulous friends; trying new restaurants; wine; TCU football; holidays; cooking; The Bar Method; pajamas; Topo Chico; reading; coffee; Central Market; carbs; the beach; mani/pedis; Anthropologie; binge-worthy TV shows and podcasts; trivia; French 75s; Pinterest; cheese boards; The Ticket; dancing; Sprinkles cupcakes; The Texas Rangers; fresh flowers; thunderstorms; naps; Tex-Mex; the Texas Hill Country; porch-sitting; ranch dressing; throwing parties; and my job. I hate: working-mom guilt; snakes; heights; waking up early; ignorant people; stomach bugs; paper cuts; green fruit; snoring; bad hair days; the sound of people eating (Misophonia); scary movies; bad drivers; pulpy OJ; trimming baby fingernails; and Miracle Whip. That pretty much sums it up.
