Due to my love of Pinterest, social media, and online "window" shopping, I thought it would be fun to start a new series of "Web Crush Wednesday" posts focused on the inspiring photos, recipes, articles, and other gems that I have compiled along the way. I love reading these type of posts on other blogs, so I hope you enjoy mine as well.
And because I can never resist a good theme, these posts will be organized that way (at least that is the plan). The first theme - pineapple - was inspired by the delicious pineapple salsa from Whole Foods that we piled on top of some fish tacos a couple weeks ago.
Pineapples are one of my favorite fruits, and the flavor evokes fond memories of summers past - from eating freshly cut pineapple during a break from white water rafting in Costa Rica to enjoying numerous piña coladas on the porch with my college roommates. And I feel like the pineapple theme is everywhere these days. Perhaps because everyone would simply rather be at the beach.
So, with out further ado, some of my fun pineapple-themed finds...

How To Cut Up a Pineapple. Because cutting up a pineapple seems like a daunting task. And The Pioneer Woman would never steer you wrong.
Hawaiian Hula Pork Fajitas with Pineapple Slaw + Coconut Rice. This entire platter of food looks absolutely amazing.
Slow Cooker Tacos Al Pastor. Another take on the pork/pineapple taco combo. I'm guessing these tacos al pastor will not be as good as the ones from Guero's, but anything that looks this good and comes from a slow cooker is worth a shot.
Beach Baby Ruffled Bloomer. It is a shame Ava is too old for bloomers now, because this ruffly, pineappley cuteness would most definitely be adorning her little baby booty. In related news, it is a good thing for our bank account that Anthropologie doesn't sell more kids' clothes.
Piña Colada Popsicles. I am a total sucker for piña coladas. (Particularly ones served in glasses as big as your head at D'Nada in Playa del Carmen, but that is a story for another day.) And these refreshing popsicles look like a fabulous take on the frozen cocktail.
Pineapple Party. This would be such a fun theme for a summer birthday party.
Thai Pineapple Peanut Chicken Satay. I need this peanuty goodness in my life.
Pineapple Wallpaper. I love pretty much anything made by Rifle Paper Co., and this wallpaper is no exception. It would be so fun in a small guest bathroom or as an accent wall in a bedroom.
Pineapple and Banana Fritters. I think this recipe is the perfect excuse to finally bust out our fryer.
Pineapple Vase. So gorgeous. I'm bookmarking this for when one of my sisters has a beach destination wedding (please!).
Painted Pineapples. Sisters - please see above. I NEED to throw a beach-themed shower.
Jamaican Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Oh. My. I think this recipe would make my cast iron skillet, and my husband, very happy.

La Croix Curate Piña Frase. I have a (more than) slight obsession with La Croix, and this new flavor needs to be added to our rotation ASAP.
Pineapple Cookies. I follow @idreamofcookiesdotcom on Instagram, and her cookie creations are incredible!
Pineapple Romper. So cute. And it is currently on sale!
Stoli Doli. We go to The Capital Grille every year for Restaurant Week (and have our reservations lined up for this year) and always arrive a little early to enjoy a Stoli Doli at the bar. The cocktails are simply made with pineapple-infused vodka...no mixers at all...so they are dangerously delicious. I found this "recipe" online, and I'm dying to make my own infused vodka soon.
Pineapple Dole Whip. I never tried this as a kid at Disney, but I hear it is the jam. And I have a feeling the two small humans in my house would love it.
Salty Pineapple Instagram Account. I love seeing the Salty Pineapple's photos pop up in my feed because they instantly transport me to a fabulous tropical location. Here's to hoping we can actually plan a beach vacation soon.
Coastal Hills Scarf. I love that this delicate scarf is not so in-your-face with the pineapple theme. If only I lived in a climate where summer scarfs were a bit more appropriate.
Ok - let's get some things straight...
ReplyDelete1. PW is mistaken (because she's never wrong). The best way to cut a pineapple is to use the Pampered Chef's Pineapple Cutter. http://www.amazon.com/Pampered-Chef-Pineapple-Wedger-Corer/dp/B004VTQC9E
2. The best place to purchase pineapples is Costco. So big, juicy and delicious. Your followers HAVE to know this!
3. I made tacos al pastor in my crock pot using this recipe. I used real pineapple though both in the crock pot and for garnish and they were AWESOME!!! https://thetastyfork.wordpress.com/2012/10/19/crock-pot-tacos-al-pastor/
4. Ava still wears skirts and dresses and needs some bloomers under them, so you can justify the pineapple bloomers!
5. The Dole Whip was AWESOME at Disney!!! So glad you found a recipe!!
