This year we hosted Easter at our house for the first time ever. Of course the week leading up to the holiday was insane at work (par for the course these days), but I still managed to decorate the house a bit (in part thanks to leftover decor from Ava's birthday party). I also had lots of help with the cooking thanks to my little sous chef.
I mean...making mini quiche is serious business.
The kids woke up to fun Easter baskets on Sunday morning.
And then it was time to see what the Easter Bunny had brought.
Ava came away with quite the haul.
Rylan, on the other hand, was perfectly content with a few eggs filled with chocolate bunny grahams.
With Rylan down for a nap, we set up for brunch with Josh's parents and the Lockwoods.
The kids' table...
I couldn't resist buying these adorable bunny poppers.
And the adults' table...
The spread...
We had lots of brunch fare on hand, including three varieties of the mini quiche, mini chicken & waffles, and mimosas (duh).
After brunch, it was time for the cousin egg hunt. Each kid had a color, and it was a race to collect all 12 (props to Tori for the activity and for even color coordinating the contents).
Checking out their goodies...
We clearly had to test out the parachute toys from the upstairs patio.
Then it was time for some cascarones (the Shepherds are from San Antonio after all) and bunny poppers.
Rylan finally woke up and was ready to join the party.
The weather could not have been more perfect, and it was such a wonderful Easter Sunday.
It doesn't get much better than that.
