Second Sunday Brunch Bunch: Laura's Baby Shower

In June, Jill and I hosted a very special meeting of the Second Sunday Brunch Bunch...a baby shower for Laura!

All of our Second Sunday girls were in attendance (with the exception of Lolly who came down with a stomach bug that weekend...boo!), as well as several other friends of Laura.

Ava even joined the fun for a bit.

We went with a theme of bright summer colors: pink, yellow, orange, and aqua.

Jill made the adorable wreath as well as the tassel garland (check out the diy garland tutorial here). She definitely wins the crafty award for the party.

I also love how the flowers turned out (floral design is definitely one of my favorite creative outlets).
Although the best part of the shower was clearly the mimosa bar.

We also served iced coffee, which I knew Rachel would appreciate.

And since it was a brunch shower, we had plenty of delicious food on hand, including mini quiche, savory breakfast palmiers, pigs in a blanket, fruit and donut hole skewers, brie bites, cinnamon french toast casserole, and cupcakes.

During the shower, we had the guests fill out these special cards for Baby M...
Laura also opened a bunch of fun gifts for the little lady.
And she found a fun use for the packaging instructions from one of them. Ha!
We love you, Laura, and we can't wait to meet your sweet baby girl (and find out her name)!

About Me

My name is Catherine, but most of my friends call me Cat. I was born and raised in Austin, went to TCU, and ended up in Dallas for law school (where Josh and I met). I decided that being an attorney was not my cup of tea and pursued a career in legal marketing. I am now a mother of two attempting to balance family with a full-time job, which is always an adventure. I love: my sweet babies, handsome husband, very large family, and fabulous friends; trying new restaurants; wine; TCU football; holidays; cooking; The Bar Method; pajamas; Topo Chico; reading; coffee; Central Market; carbs; the beach; mani/pedis; Anthropologie; binge-worthy TV shows and podcasts; trivia; French 75s; Pinterest; cheese boards; The Ticket; dancing; Sprinkles cupcakes; The Texas Rangers; fresh flowers; thunderstorms; naps; Tex-Mex; the Texas Hill Country; porch-sitting; ranch dressing; throwing parties; and my job. I hate: working-mom guilt; snakes; heights; waking up early; ignorant people; stomach bugs; paper cuts; green fruit; snoring; bad hair days; the sound of people eating (Misophonia); scary movies; bad drivers; pulpy OJ; trimming baby fingernails; and Miracle Whip. That pretty much sums it up.
